RESTRICTIONS in place around the town centre on Barnsley Football Club’s matchdays will come into force earlier than usual tomorrow.
The Reds’ South Yorkshire derby clash against Sheffield Wednesday kicks off at 1.30pm and Jumble Lane’s temporary footbridge will be closed to pedestrians an hour before.
It will reopen at 4.30pm, according to Barnsley Council, and fans heading to Oakwell from the town centre have been advised to follow walking routes via Midland Street, Eldon Street and Schwabisch Gmund Way.
Fans exiting Barnsley Interchange have been told to use Cheapside and Lambra Road as alternative routes to the stadium.
