Manor Occupation road will be closed for 60 metres wither side of house number five from April 20 while a manhole is replaces. The work will last for one day and motorists are asked to use Summer Lane, High Street, or Oakwood Road as an alternate route.

The footpath outside of Barnsley Fire Station will be closed for approximately six weeks while a fence is installed. The closure will come into effect today (April 12) and will extend towards Joseph Locke Primary School.

Hough Lane, Wombwell, will be closed temporarily while new gas connections are installed. The road will be closed for one day from April 18, from outside houses number 74 to 78. Alternative routes include Wood Walk, Dearne Valley Parkway, Wath Road, Valley Way, Mayflower Way, Park Street, and Church Street.

A temporary 40mph speed limit will come into effect on April 19 while BT carry out service works. The speed restriction will come into effect on Whams Road, from Flouch Roundabout to Heather Cottages. The works will take approximately three days.

Highways improvement works will be carried out for approximately five weeks in the town centre. Lambra Road will be closed from the entrance to G Motorbody to the end of Wesley Street from April 19. An alternative route will be via Harborough Hill and Pontefract Road.
