A DEDICATED winter welfare support service has been introduced to help vulnerable Barnsley residents.
The council’s Covid-19 support service has been contacting people who have tested positive for the virus over the last 12 months, aiding them through their isolation with advice and information on financial support.
This service will now be expanded to include advice on local support, financial aid information and flu and winter illnesses.
Information packs will also be created and handed out via local area teams.
The service will contact people by phone from the number 774666 and will not ask for details such as bank information.
