POLICE have issued a statement following reports of a heavy police presence near the former Cutting Edge pub in Worsbrough this morning.
A police statement said: “We were called today (Thursday May 1) at 8.10am to reports of a woman with a suspected firearm in Hoyland, Barnsley.
“It is reported that the woman threatened a group of children before travelling towards Sheffield Road in Worsbrough.
“No injuries were reported.
“Officers attended and recovered a BB gun. The woman was arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence. She remains in custody.”
