A BARNSLEY police officer who was clocked driving at 107mph in a 60mph zone is the subject of a misconduct hearing today.
PC Luke Meakin, who was based in Penistone, was clocked speeding on May 21 last year.
He was subsequently disqualified from driving for a period of three months, on January 15.
He will be the subject of a misconduct hearing at The Professional Standards Department in Chapeltown.
A police report states: “This is a breach of the standards of professional behaviour in respect of discreditable conduct. The matters set out above are a breach of the standards which are so serious as to justify dismissal and therefore constitute gross misconduct.”
