THE Young Champions awards for 2025 have been running for four months and the deadline to nominate your talented youngsters is now just ONE week away.
It has been another incredible year for the awards, after the Barnsley Chronicle brought them back in 2024, and it’s safe to say that there’s already a lot of talent on display with those we’ve put forward.
But there’s always room for more and we’re continuing our search for anyone under the age of 21 who deserves extra recognition for their efforts.
Whether a committed charity fundraiser or an up-and-coming sporting star, then send their details over to the Chronicle so that they can be in with a chance.
The categories for this year’s awards are:
Student of the Year
Young Apprentice
Young Fundraiser
Young Carer
Young Sportsperson
Young Volunteer
Young Conqueror
Young Community Hero
Young Entertainer
Young Entrepreneur
Special Achievement
Young Team of the Year (Sport)
Young Team of the Year (Community)
Young Team of the Year (Entertainment)
Nominees will be featured in the Chronicle before our judges draw up a shortlist later this month. Those finalists will be invited to the Metrodome on June 13 for the awards presentation, hosted by children’s TV presenter Sam Nixon.
If you know anyone who you believe is worthy of one of these awards, send their details and a brief description to: youngchampions@ barnsley-chronicle.co.uk.
