AN investment will be made into parks and play areas across Worsbrough in the coming months.
The first £14,000 was signed off recently, which will see works carried out at Ward Green Park to improve safety and rejuvenate existing play equipment and activities.
Further works will be delivered at Worsbrough Dale Park and Bank End Park.
The works – funded by Section 106 money from housing developers – have been praised by Coun Jake Lodge, who represents the Worsbrough ward.
He said: “I’ve long sought investment into parks and play areas across Worsbrough following years of damage and neglect but due to the limited finances within parks services, that has always been a challenge.
“However, I’m delighted to have been able to identify Section 106 money from recent housing developments, meaning that money created in Worsbrough will be spent here.
“Like many, I’m looking forward to seeing the improvements and taking my own daughters to enjoy the new facilities.’
