A BURGLAR who stole cash from a till during a raid on a town centre shop will be sentenced later this month.
Little Prims Baby Boutique on Market Street was targeted by 39-year-old Johnathan Mars, of Queens Road, Barnsley, on February 7.
He stole approximately £90 in cash and was bailed in order for a pre-sentence report to be compiled. Mars will appear at Barnsley Magistrates’ Court on May 15.
A MAN who illegally deposited waste has been given a four-figure bill. Damon Millthorpe, of Harold Avenue, Lundwood, pleaded guilty to breaching the Environmental Protection Act at Barnsley Magistrates’ Court. The 36-year-old disposed of waste on Station Road, Cudworth, which led to Barnsley Council launching an investigation. Millthorpe was fined £100, told to pay a £40 surcharge and court costs totalling £938. He was given permission to pay the bill at a rate of £5 a week.
A PENSIONER who denies drink-driving will appear for his trial in May. Norman Williams, of Rockley Avenue, Wombwell, was stopped while driving an Audi A4 in January. The 71-year-old is due to appear for his trial at Barnsley Magistrates’ Court on May 12.
A MOTORIST who was more than double the drink-drive limit has been banned from driving. Vladimir Milanov, of Imperial Street, Barnsley, was stopped on Burton Road, Monk Bretton, behind the wheel of a Volkswagen Golf on March 8. The 47-year-old pleaded guilty to the offence having had 85mg of alcohol in 100ml of breath. Milanov was disqualified from driving for 20 months and fined £120. He was also told to pay court costs of £85 and a £48 surcharge.
A HONEYWELL man has been given more time to complete his community order. Luke Harthill, of Greenhill Lane, was ordered to carry out unpaid work. The 27-year-old’s order was extended by another 12 months, meaning he has until April 2026 to complete his work.
