A MAN who was charged with a town centre burglary will appear for his trial in November.
John Green, of Honeywell Street, Barnsley, is alleged to have entered the former National Tyre Service premises, on Shambles Street, between November 30 and December 2 last year.
The 52-year-old is accused of stealing power tools with a value of more than £3,000. He will appear for his trial at Barnsley Magistrates’ Court on November 13.
A TEEN drug dealer who was charged with supplying drugs will be sentenced later this month. Blake Pendleton, 19, admitted being concerned in the distribution of cocaine and cannabis.
Pendleton, of St Helen’s Street, Elsecar, was bailed ahead of his next appearance at Sheffield Crown Court on May 14.
A MOTHER who failed to ensure her child regularly attended school has been fined. Dawn Lunn, of Hill Top, Brierley, was prosecuted by Barnsley Council. She was fined £220, told to pay costs of £75 and an £88 surcharge.
A BARNSLEY man who is accused of racially abusing a police officer has been bailed ahead of his sentencing. Mark Corbett, of Keresforth Close, Barnsley, admitted using insulting terms during an incident in December. The 42-year-old will be sentenced at Barnsley Magistrates’ Court on May 22.
A SHEFFIELD man who was charged with burglary following an incident in Barnsley town centre has been given a suspended prison sentence. Paul Wake, 48, admitted breaking into Starbucks, in Cineworld, on April 6. He was given a 16-week sentence, suspended for 12 months.
A GOLDTHORPE man who committed a racially aggravated assault will be sentenced. Thomas David, of Doncaster Road, pleaded guilty to the assault which occurred at Rotherham Hospital last July. The 27-year-old will appear at Barnsley Magistrates’ Court for sentencing on May 15.
A THIEF who stole food and drink from a Co-op branch will be sentenced this month. Jake Roberts, of Darfield Road, Cudworth, targeted his local store in October. The 22-year-old stole items worth £39.80 and pleaded guilty. He will be sentenced at Doncaster Magistrates’ Court on May 14.
