Road closed after burst water pipe

CEMETERY Road will be closed today following a burst water pipe over the weekend.

Yesterday (January 10) a water pipe burst at the Sheffield Road crossroads near Doncaster Road.

This caused damage to a gas pipe and cut power to the traffic signals.

Yorkshire water confirmed yesterday that works to repair the water pipe are on hold while the gas pipe is fixed.

In order to repair the damage, Cemetary Road will be closed today (January 11) in both directions from Pindar Oaks Street to Sheffield Road.

Bus routes will also be diverted while repairs are carried out.
