ENFORCEMENT officers could soon be deployed to tackle problem parkers who are still breaking the rules despite restrictions being in place on a Wombwell road.

Valley Park Industrial Estate, located on Newlands Way and Meadowgate, is home to a number of business and commercial units.

Some have on-site parking available for staff and visitors but following an issue with problem parking, ‘no waiting at any time’ restrictions were officially enforced on Monday.

Despite this, concerned locals said the issue was still consistent.

Coun James Higginbottom, who represents the Wombwell ward and is the environment and highways cabinet spokesperson, said that more enforcement activity could soon be implemented if drivers continue to flout the rules.

He added: “I would expect all drivers to abide by the restrictions and make use of the ample parking that is provided around Valley Park.

“I am in discussions with parking services to provide enforcement activity but the message to any driver is clear: breaching these restrictions runs the risk of receiving a ticket.”
